2016 Tractor Ride Details

2016 POWER OF THE PAST TRACTOR RIDE

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US!

WE WILL MEET AT 8:00 AM AT BUB ROBBINS’ FARM, 3641 COLORADO ROAD,  2.7      MILES NORTH OF POMONA ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD.  WE WILL TRAVEL SOUTH OUT OF POMONA THEN WEST THROUGH QUENEMO AND EAST TO WILLIAMSBURG.      [ We will not serve Breakfast this year.]

Please help enforce club rules regarding the ride. 

One person per tractor, no riders, no exceptions.  All tractors must have a slow moving triangle.  All drivers must have a valid driver’s license, or farm permit.  No pulled equipment of any kind.  No passing, side by side driving or show off maneuvers.  All tractors must be operated in a safe manner.  No alcoholic beverages.  Follow officials instructions.  Violators will be asked to leave the ride immediately.

We recommend that you have a tow rope or chain on your tractor.

A $5.00 fee will be collected for each participating tractor on the ride.

            Trams will be provided free for those who wish to go but don’t have a tractor.  Max. 40 people with preference to families of tractor drivers.  We will depart in two groups from Bub’s farm.  The first group will be tractors with speed of under 10 mph and will leave at 9:00 am and will travel at about 6 mph.  The second group will be for tractors with a speed of 11 mph or more and will leave at 9:45 and travel at about 10 mph.  If you can’t move at least 5-6 mph, don’t go.  If you can’t keep up with the pace set by the lead tractor in your group, please pull over.

Lunch will be on your own at Williamsburg.  You will be given a paid slip at the beginning of the ride that you can turn in for a $5.00 voucher from Terry at Williamsburg to be used to  help pay for the cost of your lunch.  The return trip will begin at 1:30 for slow tractors and 2:00 for fast tractors.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US!

WE WILL MEET AT DODSON AVIATION (2 MILE SOUTH OF OTTAWA ON 59 HIGHWAY – 1 MILE EAST ON ROCK CREEK Rd. – THEN 1 MILE SOUTH) – WE WILL BE GOING TO LANE WHERE LUNCH WILL BE SERVED BY THE RURATONS AS A FUND RAISER FOR THEIR GROUP.

BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED BY COUNTRY FIXIN’S CATERING PROVIDED TO TRACTOR DRIVERS BEGINNING AT 8:00 AS PART OF THE $10.00 RIDE FEE. OTHERS MAY EAT FOR A SMALL FEE

PLEASE HELP ENFORCE THE FOLLOWING RULES REGARDING THE RIDE.
No riders, only one person per tractor. All tractors must have a slow moving vehicle triangle. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license or farm permit. No pulled equipment of any kind. No side by side driving. All tractors must be operated in a safe manner. NO ALCOHOL.

All participants will be expected to follow the rules to ensure a safe and fun day. Please report any unsafe drivers to Ken at 785-418-5999 or any other board member. Violators will be asked to leave the ride immediately. You may also call 785 – 418 – 5999 with any questions.

We recommend you have a chain or tow rope on your tractor, and enough fuel to go 35 miles.

The fee for the ride will be $10.00 per tractor driver.

A tram will be provided for up to 40 people to accommodate those who wish to go with us, but don’t have a tractor. Preference will be given to the spouses of tractor drivers. You may reserve a seat on the tram by calling Ken @ 785 418 5999. Please call or talk to Ken well before the ride so we can be sure we have enough seating for everyone.

We will leave in two groups, the first at 9:00 will be tractors that can travel a minimum of 8 miles per hour, and the second at 9:45 will be tractors that can travel 11 + miles per hour. IF YOU CAN NOT TRAVEL AT THESE SPEEDS PLEASE DON’T COME. We need to be able to meet these speeds for safety and to meet our schedule. Call Ken at 418-5999 before the ride if you need to go with the slow group. If no one wants to go in the slow group we will all leave at 9:45 If you find you can’t keep up please pull over at a safe place and allow the other tractors to pass then follow the map to Lane.

We will meet at Killough Construction located 1/2 mile north of Ottawa on old Highway 59.

Breakfast will be served by Chuck-wagon Catering provided to the tractor drivers as part of the $10.00 tractor ride fee. Others may pay a small fee & eat breakfast with us.

We will leave from Killough construction’s lot at 3633 Old Highway 59 north of Ottawa.

From the South go north down Main street to Killough construction (approx. 1/2 mile North of town. From the East take I 35 to K 68 exit then west to Main Street, turn North to Killough Construction.

From the West take K 68 to Main Street then North to Killough Construction.

From the North take Old Highway 59 exit South to Killough Construction.

The slow tractors will leave at 9:00 AM and the faster tractors will leave at 10:00.

ALL tractors MUST have a slow moving vehicle triangle displayed.

We will go west on Sand Creek road and wind through the countryside to Appanose, The return route will have about 4 miles of gravel road so be prepared.
